Arrested for drinking a beer at an alabama state park. Is that right?
I was drinking a beer, in a cup, on a beach of a lake on memorial day weekend. I got arrested for it. Does this not undermind the entire purpose of state parks? Places where citizens, who pay taxes, can go and relax and enjoy themselves? I was not drunk, I was sitting on a towel with 3 girls watching the sunset. Talk to me people!
Alcohol is not permitted in State Parks in Alabama – any of them. Not even in your RV in the campground where you have paid a fee for a spot.
Just curious: You mentioned the beer was in a cup. What was occurring immediately prior to the nice officer getting close enough to you and your cup to notice it was beer instead of apple juice? Could there have been a reason for the officer to check you out or was he just Barney Fife on the warpath?
