How do I remove caked on grease from an old turkey frying pot?
I am starting to brew beer and I have a pot that works, but this other pot I found in my garage works better. Its a 30 quart turkey fryer, but it has been sitting in a closet in my garage untouched for about 5 years with some peanut oil still in it. The grease is VERY stuck to the pot and very sticky. Scrubbing with regular soap and detergent won’t work, using the dishwasher won’t work, nothing I can find will work. Will oven cleaner affect the stainless steel finish? What other suggestions do you have?
Buy Dawn Power Dis-solver. Spray it all down while it’s dry (no water) wait 30 minutes and wipe off. May need a 2nd treatment but this stuff is amazing! I use this on our deep fryer. Smells a little like lemon…not as toxic as oven cleaner. Also works great on grill grates. Good Luck!
