why do we need different glasswares for different drinks??
eg beers, we have lager glass and also pilsner glass for top and bottom fermented beers.
wine: small and larger rims
Tradition plays a large part. Some glasses are designed to measure the optimal size serving some consider appropriate for the beverage in question. However, some glasses do serve a practical function like warming the beverage (eg. brandy ballon), keeping it cool, allowing aroma to be appreciated or even to allow the formation of a nice head with a particular beer.
