What size growler can be sold in Florida?
Trying to find out what the laws are concerning sales of growlers from bars in Florida. A standard growler is 64 oz but we have heard that Florida limits the size of to go beer to 32 oz. We have not been able to find a definitive answer, and are looking for a link to the relevant law.
The container can not exceed 32 ounces per Florida Law. However according to the law it does not pertain to bulk containers or ones of 1 gallon or more. So a 64 ounce, or half gallon growler would not be permitted. A gallon one would though.
563.06 Malt beverages; imprint on individual container; size of containers; exemptions.
(6) All malt beverages packaged in individual containers sold or offered for sale by vendors at retail in this state shall be in individual containers containing no more than 32 ounces of such malt beverages; provided, however, that nothing contained in this section shall affect malt beverages packaged in bulk or in kegs or in barrels or in any individual container containing 1 gallon or more of such malt beverage regardless of individual container type.
