Are the “Mr.Beer” kits a good way to learn how to brew your own beer?
I see these kits everywhere, and I’ve been interested in learning how to do this for quite some time. I’ve read online about what you would need to brew your own beer, and it doesn’t sound too difficult. However, assembling all of the parts sounds like it could take a while and be expensive, and these Mr. Beer kits give you all the stuff you need for under $150.00. My question is…is there anyone who has used the Mr. Beer kit and liked it? Was it worth it? Have you moved on from using it to build your own system? Is the process of making brewing with the Mr. Beer kit helpful in making you learn how to brew beer professionally or is it just kind of a toy that is nothing at all like actually brewing beer?

No, the Mr. Beer kits are cheap and crappy. There is absolutley no skill involved (but some may like that). Go to William’s Home Brew web site and look at their kits. Way more fun, and it makes better tasting brews!
